June 18, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

June 18th will be full day of river revelry and celebration. Start your day with a stroll along the Riverwalk from the arena to the Laurel Street Bridget to see 7 new wheat paste murals on buildings that face the river by Tannery artist and SPECTRA teacher Elijah Pfotenhauer.

From 12-2:30 PM at the Water Street bridge, enjoy:

  • Hands-on artmaking with Heidi Cramer, designer if this year’s Ebb & Flow project and installation of the public art piece on the Water Street bridge
  • River Tours by local river experts and storytellers
  • Children’s art booths led by SPECTRA arts instructors
  • Photo booth under the bridge with Geoffrey Nelson’s Guardian of the River sculpture
  • Fun and games with Eb, Flo, and other costumed river creatures

At 3 PM, the community is invited to the Tannery Arts Center for Tanniversary, a celebration of the creativity and art with food, fun, and free performances all afternoon and evening. The evening will also feature the grand opening of Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center’s new dance facility. At 7 PM, there will be an artist reception at the Tannery’s Radius Gallery for “All Hands On Deck”, a raffle of beautifully decorated skateboard decks to benefit Arts Council Santa Cruz County.
